American Block - Senior Engineer

MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Senior Engineer will be responsible for equipment from design process and materials acquisition to progression of orders and technical documentation. This Engineer will communicate with vendors and customers, and will have supervisory responsiblities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
  • Design equipment to meet customer requirements, industry specifications and established safety and design standards.
  • Review sales documents and determine all engineering requirements of orders.
  • Manage engineering progression of orders.
  • Create, review, revise, and release design drawings and models.
  • Create, review, revise, and release parts and bills of materials.
  • Create, review, revise, and release design and calculation packages.
  • Create, review, revise, and release technical documentation including manuals, specifications, procedures, etc.
  • Dispose non-conformance reports (NCR) and issue engineering change notices (ECN).
  • Communicate with vendors for quotes, material feasibility, and technical issues.
  • Address technical issues, question, and concerns and give authoritative dispositions on them.
  • Oversee complex projects to ensure that the engineering is coordinated.
  • Improve products and processes through research and analysis. Implement improvements by producing designs, data, reports and tools.
  • Delegate project responsibilities and manage timely completion.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to engineering personnel.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a tier 1 university with a GPA of at least 2.5
  • 7+ years work experience in mechanical drafting and design preferred.
  • Work experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor preferred.
