Maintains equipment by repairing, rebuilding, and fabricating parts.
-Experience in using Mills, Engine Lathe, Vertical Boring Mill, Horizontal Boring Mill, reading of drawings, and basic math skills.
-Operate at least two of the following large manual machines
- Large Vertical Turning Lathe
- Horizontal Boring Mill
- Vertical Boring Mill
-Able to determine feeds, speeds and select tooling for a variety of materials including superalloys and alloy steels.
-Can machines tapers, complex cuts, standard threading
-Can hold tolerances of .002” or better.
-Can set up and machine complex geometries including a variety of threads.
-Plans work assignment by investigating machine failures; studying drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
-Sets-up equipment by setting adjustments to match specifications; testing tolerances.
-Fabricates parts by operating equipment; using handtools.
-Verifies parts by using precision measuring instruments; testing production routine.
-Documents equipment changes by completing records.
-Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
-Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
-Accomplishes operations and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
